Guided Meditation / Yoga Nidra

I offer Guided Meditation in a Yoga Nidra style, or yogic sleep as it is commonly known. It is a powerful meditation technique, and one of the easiest yoga practices to develop and maintain. As you rest comfortably in savasana (corpse pose lying on your back), this systematic meditation takes you on a journey through your body and mind, leaving you with a sense of wholeness.
Anyone can take part, from children to people in their older years. It's easy to follow at any age. All that your body needs to do is lie down on the floor. And even if you can't lie down on the floor, you can still do this practice seated in a chair. Make yourself as comfortable as possible, you can lie on your side if that works for your body. Bring blankets and cushions if needed.
Then, all you have to do is follow the voice that is guiding you, my voice. It's likely that you will remember certain parts of the meditation and not others. Every time you come to the practice you encounter a new experience—none of which is wrong. Falling asleep is okay too, as you will still receive benefits while the unconscious mind is absorbing the practice. Don’t worry about snoring, I will give a gentle nudge if needed.

Guided meditation / Yoga Nidra promotes deep rest and relaxation that isn’t found in your average meditation practice. The stages of body scan and breath awareness alone can be practiced to calm the nervous system, leading to less stress and better health
It can help support better memory function and also help to reduce anxiety.

On February 20th I will be offering Cacao (optional) as part of the session as kindly gifted by 2 of my regular Earthdancers. This cacao is ceremonial grade and will aid relaxation and deep rest… will only need a small serving to feel the benefits of this ancient plant medicine. The meditation session will be with flame effect candles and low lighting to bring peace and relaxation into the space.
